How To: Logging into Teams with a CNC Account

Use this article to learn how to log onto Teams and verify that you are logged in with the correct account.

Before you begin

Ensure that you are using your provided CNC email address, which will end with "@cnc.bc.ca". If you have not yet registered for multi-factor authentication, please visit this link for assistance. If you need to change/test your password, please visit this link.

Mobile Version

Both Android and Apple users may use the Teams application. Ensure to install the correct application, Teams will not contain advertisements or requests for payment. Below is a screenshot of the application in the Play Store, the App Store will have an identical logo, description and publisher. Click the image to enlarge.

When the application is opened for the first time, you will see the screen below (click to enlarge). Select "Get started".

In the next screen, you will be able to log in. Below contains my account already, but you will be able to place your credentials in to log in. Please enter your CNC account credentials into the log in menu. Please be prepared to perform MFA after logging in.

Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)Tapping on the circular icon containing your initials or portrait at the top next to your name will take you to your profile page that will allow you to verify that you are logged into your CNC account by checking the email address.

If you are not signed into the correct account, please click on "settings", found in the left side panel, then "sign out", located at the bottom of the new menu that appeared.

Browser Version

Visit this link to visit Teams within your browser. This will work on any browser of your choice, such as Chrome or Firefox. Please use the same browser to access Teams as you do Moodle.

You will be greeted with the generic Microsoft login screen. Enter your CNC credentials (username@cnc.bc.ca) and be prepared to perform MFA.

Once logged in, or if already logged in, you may check that you are logged onto your CNC account by clicking on the circular icon containing your initials or portrait in the upper right corner. Select "sign out" if you are not, then sign in with your CNC credentials.

Desktop Version

You may already have a version of Teams installed on your computer if you have a Windows machine. If not, please visit this site to download Teams and open and run the installer for Windows and Apple computers. You can also install Teams through the Microsoft store.

Chromebook users will not be able to use this application, please refer to the browser version section of this article.

When loading the program, you will find a log in page that looks similar to the one below, but the art or layout may be slightly different. Enter your CNC email (username@cnc.bc.ca) and be prepared to perform MFA.

Teams may look like the screenshot found below if you have several accounts to choose from before accessing Teams. Click on the purple "Create or use a different account" button to log in with your CNC credentials.

Once logged in, you can see if you are on the appropriate account by clicking on the circular icon with your initials in the upper right corner:
