New School Year, New Portal.
Hello, Elizabeth here. I have worked over the summer to re evaluate our portal based on your feedback to make our ticketing system easier for you to submit tickets.
Overwhelmingly, I found that users noted it was difficult to know where to look for their specific issue. From this, I reduced our categories down to the basics: Accounts, Hardware, Software, Internet, and such. I want to make things easier for you to find what you need.
I have reduced the descriptions down for each request, creating simpler descriptions that don't take up too much of your time to know if you're in the right place.
I have added a description box to every request. Why? Because you have likely emailed us with "I wanted to submit a ticket, but I couldn't quite explain some stuff." I hear you! So, explain away!
Every request, if relevant, will have a "you may be looking for" section. Why? Because you have likely emailed us with "I wanted to submit a ticket but it was hard to find what I was looking for". Hopefully this helps.
A big change that I'm very happy with is some issues will no longer require a sign in to submit a ticket. This includes:
- I can't log in
- This is new! And helps our biggest problem of "I can't log in so I can't log in to submit a ticket to tell you".
- Classroom emergency.
- We appreciate it when tickets are submitted regarding this, as it alerts everyone who regularly works on campus. But we recognize it's a pain to also have to log in to tell us, so you don't have to.
- Report a Cybersecurity Issue
- This is also new. We want it to be easier for you to report anything cybersecurity related.
Changes to the categories
We have kept "Request Service" and "Something's broken". I have reduced the categories down within these sections, here's the breakdown:

Please let us know your feedback. These changes are never set in stone and we are open to evolving our portal as we learn what our users want.
