Request Non-Employee Accounts

What is this?

Request the creation of non-employee CNC computer accounts by using one of the forms listed to the right. 

72 Hour Guest Wi-Fi Account

Using the form linked to the right you can instantly create a guest Wi-Fi account that will stay active for 72 hours. As the requester you are responsible for the proper use and conduct of all actions by this account on the CNC network. Please see the Policy AD-IT-6.02: Acceptable Use of CNC Information Technology for more information.

Contractor Accounts Request

IT Services can create time limited accounts for contractors temporarily employed by CNC. These accounts function nearly identically to a CNC employee account and provide an email account, CNC phone number, and access to standard CNC collaboration tools such as MS Teams and OneDrive.

These accounts:

  • Can only be requested by CNC Managers.
  • Need to have a start and an end date.

Academic Upgrading Test Account Request

IT Services can create time-limited accounts for students scheduled to write an Academic Upgrading placement test.

These accounts:

  • Can only be requested by members of staff of the Academic Success Centre.
  • Need to have a start and an end date.
  • Are limited to the date on which the exam takes place.

Extended Wi-Fi (4+ Days) (Generic Account)

IT Services can create time-limited accounts for users or groups of users who have an identified need for wireless or computer lab access on campus.

These accounts:

  • Can only be requested by (or on behalf of) current CNC managers.
  • Need to have a start and an end date.
  • Will be provided to the requester for delivery to the end user(s).

How account creation is approved:

  1. The requesting manager specified will receive an automated email requiring they approve or deny the request.
  2. A member of the IT leadership team will review and approve or deny the request.
  3. The requester and specified manager will be automatically updated of the approval process as it occurs

Practicum Student Accounts Request

IT Services can create time-limited accounts for students completing their work experience or practicum at CNC. These accounts function nearly identically to a CNC employee account and provide an email account, CNC phone number, and access to standard CNC collaboration tools such as MS Teams and OneDrive.

These accounts:

  • Can only be requested by CNC Managers.
  • Need to have a start and an end date.
  • Are limited to the student's practicum period.
